Last Seattle post I promise (until my next trip!). When we went on our furniture-browsing binge, it was at University Village, where, in addition to being very visually appealing despite being mostly “signature national retailers,” DOGS ARE WELCOME.
“Christmas in Spenard” is back at the Taproot! It’s wacky, tacky, irreverent, and generally hilarious. It’s not all Christmas-themed; they throw in a good dose of political skewering, Alaska humor, and a dash of Spam just so that they don’t forget their roots.

Last night we went to Anchorage Downtown Partnership’s holiday tree lighting ceremony for the first time. It was a bit chilly, but we bundled up, and the carols, Santa, real live reindeer, and of course, the tree lighting were well worth it.
I love these door handles. They are funky and fun, and the perfect way to set the experience of dining at Snow City Cafe, which is also funky and fun.
I might need utensils this big for Thanksgiving tomorrow. Looking forward to turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, and mashed potatoes!
When I was little, I thought that every state had their own airlines, and the people who lived in each state got to fly on it. Makes sense, right? Florida Airlines, Montana Airlines, Vermont Airlines…
