Do you know about the Teen Underground? It’s a project that was gifted to Loussac Library by Anchorage Downtown Rotary and many generous donors a couple of years ago – I went to the ribbon cutting, and marveled at the colorful, sleek, fun new space, but didn’t visit again until yesterday when the library board got a tour.

Town Square’s Crystal Gallery of Ice
On Saturday, on the way to brunch with my parents and husband, it started to rain. Just a little bit. But it made us realize how warm it really was (I think it was around 46 degrees at height of thawing…so wrong for January!) and as we drove by town square filled with beautiful ice sculptures, we knew that we needed to return ASAP before they melted into dripping ice blobs.
TEDx Anchorage, March 2012
I was really excited to discover that Anchorage does TEDx. Really, really excited. Apparently, the event has been held in previous years, but somehow I missed it. Gingerbread Village @ the Captain Cook Hotel
Somehow my list of things I wanted to do during the holidays got away from me. I missed Tuba Christmas, ran out of time to drive around listening to Christmas music and look at lights, and only drank one eggnog latte (fortunately, there will be another Christmas in only twelve months). I did, however, fit in a trip to the Captain Cook Hotel’s Gingerbread Village on New Year’s Day.

Auld Lang Syne
We had a lovely New Year’s Eve this year! And I hope that everyone reading this did too!
