But just because Gretchen Loves Anchorage has been a bit quiet (for so long that since I last wrote summer ended, we sped through fall, and it snowed last week) it doesn’t mean there hasn’t been plenty going on in town – First Fridays, Salmon Daze, Pirate Pub Crawl, Hip to be (Town) Square, End of Summer Camp, PARK(ing) Day Anchorage… countless others. There’s always something fun to do!
Currently, the Alaska Federation of Natives annual convention (the largest representative annual gathering in the United States of any Native peoples) has taken over Anchorage which is a fantastic opportunity to meet people from all over the state – I’m particularly looking forward to the book signing for Mary’s Wild Winter Feast on Saturday, 1:00 PM at Barnes and Noble.

Last but far from least, if you’re wondering who the new little guy is cuddling with Grover in the photo, meet Teddy, his brother from another litter and newest addition to the family. He loves to wrestle with Grover, just learned how to walk down the stairs, and always runs over with thank you kisses and an appreciative burp after eating. I think we’ll keep him…
