The grass is still yellow, the sunshine a bit watery and cold, and no leaves have emerged yet… but the patio at Bernie’s Bungalow is open! One of Anchorage’s best outdoor spaces for an after work aperitif, it features lion sculptures, a dragon water fountain, and an archway made out of what might be bumpers… a bit random, sure, but when the sun is shining, live music is rocking, and it’s summertime in Alaska, Bernie’s is a great place to be. Plus, they have a generous supply of heat lamps just in case it gets chilly…

There are daffodils blooming on the south side of the building where I work. Yesterday I went for a walk around my neighborhood and several houses had purple and white crocus blooming in their front yards. Spring is here!
Hooray for spring! Can’t wait for leaves and flowers…
