I popped into the Anchorage Museum Crafts Weekend on Sunday, and had a great time browsing the booths.

Holiday Tree Lighting
Last night we went to Anchorage Downtown Partnership’s holiday tree lighting ceremony for the first time. It was a bit chilly, but we bundled up, and the carols, Santa, real live reindeer, and of course, the tree lighting were well worth it.
Loving Seattle
My “loving Anchorage” connection in this post is a little weak, except for loving the relatively close proximity of Seattle to Anchorage.
Happy Birthday!
Boys & Girls Club Gala, 70s Style
A month and a half ago, my husband and I were invited to the Boys and Girls Club Gala. Of course we accepted – it was a fun group of people and for a great cause.
“Surprise and Delight” – Peter Kageyama, For the Love of Cities

Little Dog Play Group
Grover and I had a fun experience this morning. Air Show: Take My Breath Away
A couple of weeks ago, my husband and I watched the F-22s perform at the air show.
Top Gun was one of the first movies to make a big impression on me as a child (I wanted to be like Charlie when I grew up – that leather jacket! big blond hair! cooler than all the boys! – and ride on the back of Maverick’s motorcycle; I used to think that “Take My Breath Away” was the most romantic song EVER, and I still love “Danger Zone”; and I absolutely practiced the super cool high-five low-five action from the beach volleyball scene and dreamed of being serenaded with a Righteous Brother’s song) and even though I was way more into the plot than the planes, pilots will be forever cool in my mind, especially if they wear aviators.
