This is Natasha of Alaska Knit Nat. We connected online and then discovered friends in common – not surprising considering it’s Anchorage, but wonderfully fun nonetheless!

Love Note: Visitor Season
There’s something so invigorating about meeting people who have just arrived in Anchorage, excited to explore. For some reason I’ve been asked for directions a lot this summer (I look like I know where I’m going? I exude localness? People are desperate? ), and I love pointing people towards fun places to dine and visit, learning about their plans for their trip, and discovering what they think about Alaska. Everyone I’ve talked to so far this summer seemed happy to be in town (or maybe just that they aren’t lost anymore ) and I was thrilled to share a bit of my love for Anchorage with them.
Rainbow Lemon Tree on Lemonade Day
It’s Lemonade Day in Alaska! I stopped by the Rainbow Lemon Tree stand outside Skinny Raven to support some of Alaska’s youngest entrepreneurs (and also to indulge my love of lemon flavored anything).
Love Note: Sesame Street in Anchorage
Every time I walk past these loading bays at the Alaska Center for the Performing Arts I feel like the Count in Sesame Street and can’t help counting along in my mind…
Love Note: To Do List
A bit different from my usual “To do” lists – sounds like the start to a quite the weekend! Getting crazy with coffee…
Thanks Dark Horse!
Love Note: Hanging Burlap Garden
Just when I think I can’t love Second Run more than I already do, they go and do something super cool like make hanging burlap gardens for the side of their building.
So pretty!

Love Note: Bernie’s Bungalow Patio
The grass is still yellow, the sunshine a bit watery and cold, and no leaves have emerged yet… but the patio at Bernie’s Bungalow is open! One of Anchorage’s best outdoor spaces for an after work aperitif, it features lion sculptures, a dragon water fountain, and an archway made out of what might be bumpers… a bit random, sure, but when the sun is shining, live music is rocking, and it’s summertime in Alaska, Bernie’s is a great place to be. Plus, they have a generous supply of heat lamps just in case it gets chilly…
Love Note: “Weird and Wonderful Anchorage, Alaska”
A friend posted a link on Facebook to this “Weird and Wonderful Anchorage, Alaska” map by Agnes Barton-Sabo the other day – isn’t it fun? Check out the full map here – lots of local favorites are featured!
