Have you discovered Ashley Maury Jewelry yet? It is sculptural and organic, simple and elegant. Not to mention just plain gorgeous. Every time I wear one of her pieces people compliment me on how beautiful and unique it is, and I love being able to say that a friend made it.

Maury Annual Studio Show and Open House
I mentioned the Maury Annual Studio Show and Open House last week (I hope you got a chance to go!), and stopped by for a visit this weekend. It’s one of my favorite early winter traditions, and I never fail to leave without something beautiful to take home. This year I picked out a bright turquoise bowl that is the perfect accent color for my living room bookcases.
Because Toni, Ashley, and Scott are some of my favorite local artists, I’m going to do a separate post for each one of them. First up, Toni!

Spenard Roadhouse
Spenard Roadhouse is one of my favorite restaurants. I love the food, the décor, and pretty much the entire warm, lively vibe of the place. Plus, it’s all served up with a huge dose of fun.
Pure Alaska Mellifera Honey
Now that I’m basically a honey expert (hah), I’ve been seeing honey everywhere! And tasting it whenever I can.

Wheel Good Food
A friend and I trekked over to the Park Strip the other day to give Wheel Good Food a try. We were already both avid Facebook followers/newsletter subscribers, but so far hadn’t done anything beyond drool over their menu and feel happy that fancy food trucks are finally arriving in Anchorage.
Lisa in Watercolor
I stumbled upon Women of the 112th one day, and have watched it ever since to see when Lisa Murkowski’s portrait would be painted.
At last, here it is!
Sweet, Salty, Spicy: Hanzuk’s Smoked Salmon Salsa
I would have never thought of putting salsa, smoked salmon, and Thai peppers together. But Michael Hanzuk did, and the result is pretty darn tasty!
